Laboratory & Scientific Infrastructure

Hub Genetik carries out its genetic test analyses in cooperation with a genetic diagnosis center licensed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye. The laboratory is responsible for analyzing the sample (DNA isolation and genotyping); Hub Genetik is responsible for sample logistics, the scientific evaluation of findings, reporting and counseling.

Mikrogen is a center that provides genetic diagnostic services in reproductive genetics, rare diseases and cancer genetics.

  • Imputation reference dataset: 1000 Genomes Project Phase 3

A microarray reads predefined positions (variants) in DNA; it does not sequence the entire genome from start to finish. Some of the reported variants are read directly on the chip, while others are statistically estimated using a reference dataset (imputation). The accuracy of estimated variants may be lower than that of directly read variants and varies by variant. Findings that may be clinically important require a confirmatory test with a new sample. Process flow

  • Kit delivery: Delivered to your address by courier within 2 business days after order confirmation.
  • Sample collection: At home, cheek swab; painless, about 5 minutes.
  • Sample return: Sent to the laboratory using the sample return pack in the kit; the return shipping cost is covered by Hub Genetik.
  • Laboratory analysis and scientific reporting: DNA isolation, genotyping, scientific evaluation and expert note.
  • Report time: 18–21 business days after the sample reaches the laboratory.
  • Report delivery: You are notified by e-mail when your report is ready.

Data security

  • Samples are processed under a coded identity (anonymous ID).
  • Your personal information is not shared with the laboratory.
  • Digital data is stored in an encrypted environment.
  • Data is not shared with third parties; it is not shared with insurance companies or employers.
