About this package
The Kids' Genetic Sports Map is for families who want to understand their child's sporting tendencies with supportive information. Variants associated with sporting tendency, recovery and injury predisposition are examined; findings are presented in plain language, to be used together with parental observation and the coach's assessment.
What is examined?
- Sporting tendency (genetic tendency towards power or endurance)
- Recovery
- Injury predisposition
What is not examined?
- The report does not predict talent, success or future performance, and it does not select or recommend a sport. International consensus statements do not recommend using genetic tests for talent selection in children.
- The test does not measure muscle fibre proportion. The effect of a single variant such as ACTN3 is small; the child's interest, development, training and enjoyment are far more decisive.
- Health, learning, cancer predisposition and drug response topics are not included in this package.
How can you use the results?
You can use the findings as additional information when talking with your child's coach about topics such as warm-up, recovery and load management. Which sport your child does should be decided by their own interest and your observation; the report does not replace this decision.
Method and limits
The sample is analysed using the DNA microarray method at a genetic diagnostic laboratory licensed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye; this method does not sequence the whole genome, it reads selected variants, and some variants are statistically estimated using a reference panel (imputation). Each finding is assigned a strong, moderate or limited evidence level; details are on the Science & Safety page.
Process and what's included in the price
- Sample: cheek swab; it takes about 5 minutes at home, with no needles or blood draw. Kids' packages require parental consent.
- Report time: 18–21 business days after the sample reaches the laboratory.
- Included in the price: Digital report + parent consultation.
- Your child's genetic data is protected as special category personal data under KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698).
How it differs from other packages
This package covers sports topics only. To see health and learning topics in a single report as well, see the Genetic Potential Map. Details are on the comparison page.
You can see how the finding cards are structured in the sample report (the sample cards are taken from an adult report).
Sample result card
Every finding in the report follows the same structure: the finding, a plain-language explanation, practical guidance, the level of evidence and the source.
